Ketogenic diet reduces oxidative stress in obese females in Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Background: Sub-Saharan Africa is not insusceptible to the obesity epidemic, regardless of continued problem undernutrition. Increases in rates overweight and are being identified Africa, especially among women people dwelling urban populations. This study, therefore, aimed at evaluating effects ketogenic diet on markers oxidative stress (reduced glutathione (GSH), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA)) obese female subjects eight weeks diet.Methods: A total forty (40) participants, 10 (25.0–29.9 kg/m2) 30 (≥30 subjects, were recruited investigated via informed consent approval obtained.
